Opportunities in LPG: Rwanda Market Analysis and Growth Trends

Rwanda is no longer in those ages when people cook with logs of wood. Now, they use cooking gas(LPG), which they buy from petrol stations, independent distributors, or supermarkets for their cooking.

Previously, the use of LPG in institutions was quite inexistent. But now, the use of LPG in restaurants, hotels, boarding schools, military camps, police stations, refugee camps, and prisons is estimated to reach 2,9990,745kg.

The use of LPG has been attracting the attention of Rwandan consumers.

“Wow!” I hear you say. “LPG, here I come.” But what are the growth trends?

According to the Ministry of Infrastructure, the use of LPG has increased tremendously since 2016 to reach about 10,000 tons per annum, which is expected to increase to more than 240,000 tons by 2024.

In general, the LPG market dynamic presents growth opportunities for entrepreneurs and investors. At the household level, the progress is promising. And commercial and public institutions started to adopt the use of LPG.
