1.Executive Summary

1.1 Vision and Mission.

Vision

To be a leading provider of clean, affordable, and reliable Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) energy in Tanzania, while leading a green revolution in the transportation sector by 2030.

Mission.

To reduce operating costs for vehicle owners in Tanzania through the supply of quality CNG and professional gas system installation services, while focusing on safety and environmental protection.

1.2 The Problem.

Despite Tanzania having large natural gas reserves, the market faces the following constraints:

Shortage of Filling Stations: There are very long queues at the few filling stations primarily in Dar es Salaam and Pwani (such as Ubungo and Tazara), which wastes drivers’ time.

High Fuel Costs: The price of petrol and diesel continues to rise, hurting the income of bajaji, motorcycle, Uber, and bolt and taxi drivers.

Environmental Pollution: Vehicles that use petrol/diesel fuel emit large amounts of carbon emissions, contrary to global goals to reduce global warming.

Lack of Modern Garages: There is a shortage of certified garages that can install CNG systems safely and to international standards.

1.3 The Opportunity

Tanzania is currently a “grandmother’s field” for CNG investment due to these reasons:

Abundant Natural Gas Reserves: Tanzania has over 57 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, so the raw material is reliable and available in TPDC .

Underserved Market: There are over 15,000 gas-powered vehicles, but fewer than 13 filling stations. This ensures instant customers from day one.

Cost Savings: A CNG user saves between 45% to 50% of the cost compared to petrol. This creates a strong incentive for people to want to make the conversion .

Government Support: The government  offers tax incentives and simplifies legal procedures for clean energy investors.

Infrastructure Expansion: A TPDC report published in November 2024 confirms that  only 4 regions in Tanzania are currently reached by the gas pipeline network. The Tanzanian Natural Gas Utilization Master Plan outline how the natural gas pipeline will be expanded in three five years phases. This include:

Phase1: from Dar es Salaam to Mwanza, from Dar es Salaam to Arusha, and from Mtwara to Njombe.

Phase2: From Morogoro to Iringa and Mbeya.

Phase 3: Mbeya to Sumbawanga, Tabora to Kigoma, Mwanza to Kagera and Mwanza to Mara regions

1.4. Products & Services

CNG Retailing: Selling gas to light vehicles, buses, and trucks.

Conversion Workshop: A workshop for installing gas kits on petrol and diesel vehicles.

Mobile CNG Delivery: A service to deliver gas to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) not reachable by pipeline.

1.4 Funding Requirements.

We seek a capital investment of TZS 1.5 Billion to facilitate land acquisition ,equipment Importation, and the construction of  state of art CNG station and conversion workshop.
